I was called 'Granddad' for the first time in my life today...

.. by a freckled, cherubic young lad of 2.

I don't know if it was toddler wideboy sass or just one of those brain farts that preschoolers have from time to time when they speak.

Maybe he has a vibrant, salt and pepper haired young granddad and I remind him of that?? Or maybe I just look haggard and tired?? Who knows?

As you age, people give you different formal titles when they speak to you. I remember the first time I was called 'Sir' and it was a shock. I didn't feel like a grown up, I still felt like a kid! Same as when I was called a 'man' in conversations between others, my newly adult subconscious wanted to call out and disagree. Anyway, 'granddad' is a new milestone, didn't think I'd reach it at 37 though...

In other news, Diz knocked my phone into the bath a few days ago. She was reaching for her toothpaste and in it sunk like a stone. I'll admit it, I swore several times (should never do it in front of the kids, bad daddy!) and my mobile had a further 10 minutes of life before the Iphone equivalent of a death rattle and black screen oblivion. To be honest, I love it! E is demanding I contact Vodafone to get a new sim for my old phone asap but I might stall a little...
